Rebecca Andrews

Rebecca is from Las Vegas and is a rising Senior in LSA. She is currently a double major in international studies and computer science with a minor in Spanish. CS KickStart showed her how much she loved coding, and gave her the confidence to pursue it as a major, despite her fears going into the program. When she isn’t doing homework, she loves napping, trying new food places in Ann Arbor, and traveling.

Sage Renstrom-Richards

Sage is a rising senior in the college of Literature, Science and the Arts who is majoring in computer science and minoring in philosophy. She is a former CS Kickstart participant who is passionate about advocating for gender and racial diversity in CS, as well as using technology to help build communities. In her free time, she enjoys camping, reading, making art, and building her baking business.

Meghana Somsaale

Meghana will be a senior in the College of Engineering who has plans of studying computer science with a minor in business. She participated in CS Kickstart the first year it was launched and has been involved in it ever since. She credits CS Kickstart as the reason for choosing to do computer science because this program gave her the confidence to tackle on a new challenge. In her free time, Meghana likes to hike, draw, or do anything adventurous.

Audrey Ladd

Audrey will be a junior in the College of Engineering and plans on majoring in computer science. She participated in the second year of CS KickStart and credits the program for encouraging her to pursue this challenging field. Audrey is excited to promote gender and racial diversity in technology, and in her free time, she enjoys racing for the Michigan Running Club, cooking, and watching movies.

Ania Dlugosz

Ania will be a junior in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts majoring in computer science and minoring in music. CS Kickstart inspired her to pursue coding after she saw the vast number of different ways in which it can be applied in the real world. She's passionate about helping others succeed in the field and creating a supportive and diverse community in CS. In her free time, she likes to produce music, play saxophone, read, and adventure to new places.

Mairna Askar

Mairna will be a sophomore in the college of Literature, Science, and the Arts. She plans on majoring in Computer Science and International Studies, thanking her success in CS to this very program. Having no clue what she wanted to study nor thought she’d be pursuing a major in STEM before college, she was inspired by CS KickStart as she found the potential in computer science and how it can help beautifully change the world. When she isn’t in school, Mairna loves to explore new places, workout, and watch as many Ted Talks as she can.

Rachel Holmes

Rachel will be a sophomore studying computer science and business. She had the opportunity to be a participant in the 2018 program, says that CS Kickstart gave her the confidence to pursue computer science knowing that there is a supportive community surrounding her and that she has the ability to successfully make an impact in the future of tech. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants and activities in Ann Arbor!
